Corporate Training
Ever wondered what dragon boating is all about?
Dragon boat racing is the ultimate team sport where 20 paddlers, rallied by a drummer at the front and guided by a steersperson at the back, must work together and paddle in complete unison. It requires no previous experience and is suitable for all ages, abilities and lifestyle, guys and girls. Above all it’s great fun!
A true sport that promotes and relies on good team work to succeed
Teamwork is everything in dragon boat racing. Synchronicity is more important than strength. A perfectly synchronized team will almost always beat a stronger, but less coordinated team. This ability is vital in today's changing marketplace, especially when working with teams made up of highly diversified talent.
As an experience, dragon boat racing is rich in learning opportunities for any group. Bringing together diverse players all of different abilities and strengths to achieve a common goal, offers corporate teams and social groups a unique opportunity to explore group dynamics and bridge communication gaps by building strong, supportive relationships.
Don't forget the fun bit
Sometimes it is important for a group or team to just have fun and socialize. Dragon boat racing is the perfect activity to take your corporate social events to a new level by introducing a high energy activity that everyone can do - all ages, all fitness levels. It provides employees, associates, clients or friends with the chance to learn about themselves, each other, and have fun doing it!
There are numerous fun charity dragon boat race events throughout the city which always guarantee a great atmosphere. We recommend taking a couple of valuable water lessons beforehand to fully appreciate and enjoy the racing event.

Testimonials

In 2009 Typhoon trained the first Barclays Capital corporate crew to enter three charity races: Lions, the Canary Wharf Challenge and Bewl Waters (Kent).
In 2010, Barclays Capital “Dangerous When Wet” team won the Tower Hamlets Rotary Dragon Boat Festival on 18 May 2010.

Typhoon has been a great influence and we owe our success as a corporate crew competing in races such as our internal company events, The Lions Hong Kong Festival and the Canary Wharf Challege. In 2009 we were the only team ever to win the Canary Wharf Challenge two years in a row, racing in a 10 men dragonboats over a series of races. We hope to continue our great partnership with Typhoon for 2010.

In 2005, 2006 and 2007 we been entering the Canary Wharf Challenge and walked away with 3rd, 2nd and 2nd, we are still waiting our first place win!!! However we also entered another Charity Race (DLM) in 2007 and managed to get the fastest qualifying time even beating a Standard League Crew to gain the Texaco Dragonhead Trophy which we placed above our office door proudly. However we had to give it back in 2008 as we were barely beaten by barely a second by the same crew as last year.

Took part in the World Corporate Games in Hungary in 2006 and with the successful guidance from members of Typhoon we were able to beat professional team to walk away with podium place in both the short and long distance events. In 2007, we futher extended our success by coming in 3rd for the long distance event for the 2007 Corporate Games with only 12 paddlers whilst other crews had 16.
